Chesterton Windmill stands proudly on a hilltop overlooking the village near the Roman Fosse Way, about five miles southeast of Warwick. Built around 1632–1633, the windmill was likely designed by Sir Edward Peyto, Lord of the Chesterton Manor House, with assistance from John Stone, a pupil of Inigo Jones. Though some claim it was built as an observatory, estate records confirm it has always been a windmill, making it the earliest tower mill in England to retain its working parts.
