Emma & Daniel’s Wedding at Kilworth House

Emma and Daniel chose Kilworth House and John Fox Wedding Photography for their special day last Friday. The morning began with Emma at Salon 79 in Brinklow for hairstyling before she returned to Kilworth to complete her bridal preparations. Meanwhile, Daniel and his groomsmen prepared at the venue, making sure everything was ready for the day ahead.

Their ceremony took place in the Wordsworth Room, a space full of history and elegance. Guests then enjoyed drinks and canapés while John captured family photographs on the grounds. This relaxed moment allowed everyone to mingle comfortably. Later, the celebrations moved into the stunning Orangery, where speeches, laughter, and dancing created a lively and unforgettable atmosphere. Its architecture and natural light provided ideal conditions for portraits, and the gardens added variety and charm.

Kilworth House: A Venue with History

Built in the late 1800s, Kilworth House originally served as a family home for John Entwistle, who was High Sheriff of Leicestershire. Over time, the property changed hands, became flats, and fell into disrepair. In 1999, Celia and Richard Mackay purchased and fully restored the estate. They reopened it as a country house hotel in April 2003.

The restoration preserved the house’s character while enhancing its features. The Victorian Orangery, stained glass windows, decorative ironwork, and well-maintained parkland all contribute to its charm. Kilworth House has since added an open-air theatre and continues to offer couples a combination of elegance, style, and flexibility for weddings.
