Gabrielle & William’s Pre-wedding shoot.

Pre-Wedding Shoot Rugby Warwickshire – Gabrielle & William’s Swift Valley Session

Gabrielle and William will marry at Kingscote Barn in Tetbury this September. Their diaries didn’t align with the venue for a pre-wedding shoot, so they came to Rugby, Warwickshire instead. We chose the Swift Valley Nature Reserve, next to Brownsover Hall, a location I’ve photographed many times before. Gabrielle and William settled into the session quickly, allowing me to capture both posed portraits and natural, candid images that showcase their personalities. The relaxed setting offered plenty of opportunities for creative, timeless photographs.

Brownsover Hall – A Historic Gem

Brownsover Hall is a Grade II* listed Victorian Gothic mansion redesigned in the 1850s by Sir George Gilbert Scott. It replaced an older manor and gained fame when Sir Frank Whittle developed the jet engine there in the 1940s. New owners are restoring the hall to its former grandeur, and it will reopen in October 2025, making it a stunning venue for weddings and photography.

Swift Valley Nature Reserve – Natural Beauty for Photography

The Swift Valley Nature Reserve, established in 2003, covers 24 hectares of grassland, woodland, and wetland. A disused arm of the Oxford Canal winds through the reserve, adding charm and variety. Rustic bridges, quiet paths, and natural scenery make it perfect for relaxed pre-wedding photography. Gabrielle and William moved naturally through the space, giving me opportunities to capture both posed portraits and spontaneous, intimate shots.
