Looking back at 2024, I’m thrilled to share highlights from two beautiful weddings captured in Derbyshire, a county filled with picturesque landscapes and historic charm. A Wedding at Historic Tissington Hall

The village of Tissington is a gem of Derbyshire, known for its stunning architecture and the ancient tradition of Well Dressing, dating back centuries. This village’s history is woven into its landscape, with St. Mary’s Church—a 12th-century marvel—standing as a serene and timeless venue for a wedding.

The pre-wedding shoot at Tissington Hall was the perfect way to capture the couple’s connection while exploring the venue’s picturesque gardens and historic charm. On the wedding day, the blend of history and natural beauty created a storybook-like atmosphere that was a joy to document.

From Derby to Kirk Langley

The second wedding in Derbyshire in 2024 began in the heart of Derby at a beautiful St Mary’s Church and Parish which is a A Grade II* listed building, it stands on Bridge Gate overlooking St Alkmund’s Way. After the ceremony we moved to the family farm in Kirk Langley, near Ashbourne, for the reception. The contrast between the formal ceremony and the relaxed, rural celebrations offered a rich variety of photography opportunities. One lovely comment from the bride was ‘its amazing how you see beauty in what we take for granted’.

The pre-wedding shoot at the family farm was a chance to get creative, incorporating elements that were meaningful to the couple, including their beloved pets and the stunning countryside setting. These moments made for a personalised and heartfelt photographic story, bringing out the unique character of the day.
