Amy and Karl’s Wedding in Leicester City

Wedding Photography Leicester – Amy and Karl

Amy and Karl’s wedding day brought together two of Leicester’s most historic venues. They chose the Leicester Guildhall for their ceremony before moving on to Wygston’s House for their reception, both right in the heart of Leicester City Centre.

To capture every detail, they booked John Fox Wedding Photography’s additional photographer, Mike. This meant John could begin the day in Whetstone with Amy, while Mike photographed Karl’s preparations at St Martins Lodge in Leicester. As a result, the coverage started from two perspectives and told a more complete story.

Leicester Guildhall Ceremony

The Leicester Guildhall is one of the city’s oldest and most atmospheric buildings. Built around 1390 for the Guild of Corpus Christi, it later served as a town hall, courtroom, meeting place and library. Its timber-framed structure and Grade I listed status make it a striking backdrop for weddings. Amy and Karl exchanged vows here surrounded by family and friends. Afterwards John organised the family groups in the courtyard. In addition, he photographed Amy and Karl inside the Guildhall to capture its dramatic interiors.

Trinity House Herb Garden

After the ceremony, John joined Amy and Karl at the Trinity House Herb Garden in Leicester for extra portraits. This hidden spot provided a calm contrast to the busy city. Moreover, its walled garden and historic charm added variety to their images. Consequently, the couple gained intimate and relaxed photographs to complement the formal shots taken at Guildhall.

Wygston’s House Reception

The celebrations then continued at Wygston’s House, another of Leicester’s historic gems. Built in the late 15th century, it remains one of the city’s oldest houses. Over the years it was remodelled, yet it still keeps its timber frame and period features. Today it offers a welcoming and elegant setting for weddings. Therefore, it was the perfect place for Amy and Karl to enjoy their reception surrounded by character and history.
